Our new Saison Campaign

June 10, 2025

The visual motifs with which we present our programme are shaped by a different artistic signature each season. By inviting different artists to give each season a unique look, we present our development as one of continuity-through-change. This principle becomes increasingly apparent when comparing the visual motifs of several years. This year, we worked together with the artist Eike Dingler.

Photos of dancers in motion are arranged as paper objects on an imaginary stage together with other things, thus recreating a moving scene. The play of artist Eike Dingler openly reveals how it is made. You can see how the cut-out cardboard figures are held in place by clips and rubber bands, all the tricks are laid bare, and yet still the images catch the viewer’s attention in illusions that develop a peculiar pull.

This season, we are more than before turning our attention to the history of dance, and focussing thereby on the craftsmanship of dance: detail, precision, technique. This should also be reflected in the visual language, while also acknowledging that our dance is not glossy, CNC-milled or digital, but alive and playful. From this starting point graphic designer, artist and photographer Eike Dingler developed the campaign. He lives in Berlin and describes his work as ‘making pictures that tell stories by photographing things’. His motifs are based on his own photographs and photos from the last two seasons, staging these by using a three-dimensional collage technique and thereby creating new situations from them. We hope you enjoy following the development of our visual language over the years as much as we do.
