We look back on our 24/25 season and thus on a year in which improvisation, spontaneity and "Saying Yes" set the tone.

We opened the season with "Join" by Ioannis Mandafounis, a climate-conscious large-scale production in which professionals and students took to the stage together and which has already been enthusiastically received in Dresden, Frankfurt and on guest performances from Antwerp to Paris, London, Turin and at the Ruhrtriennale.

"One One One", Ioannis Mandafounis' one-to-one format, was created in Frankfurt in close collaboration with amateurs and students from the HfMDK, who, at various locations throughout Frankfurt, invited passers-by to take a seat on a chair and become part of a wordless dialogue. "One One One" was also performed in Dresden and Amsterdam at the Julidans Festival in public spaces.

This was followed by Mandafounis' new work "A Land Within", which explored the boundaries between the private and the public, and SCH!, a piece for young audiences created in collaboration with the RegionalTheater Väst.

The finale featured two guest choreographers: William Forsythe and Thomas Hauert brought brand new works to Frankfurt and Dresden, putting an exclamation point on an eventful and moving year. The double bill will go on tour next season, and Forsythe's work "Undertainment" has already been shown several times in combination with "Lisa" by Ioannis Mandafounis.

Our education programme was just as lively as our productions: under the motto "Everyone can experience dance with us", we opened our studios for more than 40 workshops, ranging from Let's Dance! weekends for kids and community dance formats to method labs based on Forsythe's and Mandafounis' working methods.

Thank you to our audience, all our partners, sponsors and fellow dancers – without you, this journey would not have been possible. After the summer break, we look forward to carrying this momentum into the 2025/26 season and welcoming new guest choreographers and dancers.
