Eindrücke der BYWAYS Proben

December 8, 2025

We are currently rehearsing two new creations in our studio: “Eins vor, zwei zurück” by Ioannis Mandafounis and “Seen Unseen” by Roalind Crisp. Both works will be performed as part of a double bill starting on 06. February in Dresden and 19. March in Frankfurt.

In “Eins vor, zwei zurück” classical ballet technique meets dance improvisation, with a focus on immersing oneself in dance history. The new creation will be danced by a small cast of dancers from the DFDC and Jón Vallejo, principal dancer of the Semperoper Ballet.

The artistic passion of Australian choreographer Rosalind Crisp is to “forget” movements through compositional means. Instead, she wants to show how they can constantly reform when freed from fixed patterns and meanings. During the performance, the audience is free to move around and get close to the dancers. Pianist and composer Frédéric Blondy will improvise live, enriching the dance with his equally physical piano playing.
