BYWAYS World Premiere in Dresden

February 9, 2026

We kicked off February with the premiere of our double bill "Byways" at HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts and were delighted to present the new creations to a sold-out audience.

In his work "Eins vor, zwei zurück" which forms the first half of the evening, Ioannis Mandafounis deconstructs classical ballet movements, danced by a small cast from the DFDC ensemble and Jón Vallejo, principal dancer of the Semperoper Ballet. Australian choreographer Rosalind Crisp is known for her radical physical critique of dance through dance. For her new piece "Seen Unseen", the second half of the evening, she has developed a work in which the audience can get up close to the dancers.

"Byways" can be seen in Dresden until 15. February and at the Bockenheimer Depot in Frankfurt from 19. March.
