What I love most about dance is how it allows for me to experience the world in an extraordinary way. Moving from a place of irrationality, I find myself in beautifully absurd situations. It's as if reality merges with fantasy and I connect to myself and others with heightened sensitivity and intuition.
Sam Huczkowski is a dancer from Luleå, Sweden. He received his contemporary dance training at SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance and has a background in various street styles. From 2019 to 2024 he was a part of the Norrdans ensemble under the artistic direction of Martin Forsberg where he worked with choreographers such as Jeanine Durning, Ioannis Mandafounis, Liz Kinoshita and James Batchelor among others. Later on as a freelancer he also restaged works at Norrdans, assisting Martin Forsberg and Ioannis Mandafounis, as well as collaborated with various choreographers in Stockholm such as Björn Säfsten, OR/ELLER and Philip Berlin. His dance practice explores the intelligent dancing body that moves from a place of intuition and sensation. He aims to suspend the need for rational understanding in order to propose alternative ways of being with others, spaces and oneself.
