Dance contains a multitude of forms, textures, and behaviors. It’s a driving force for me and my body. It has created countless opportunities, yet it disappears once I stop. Dance is my way to fully express and experience a totality of sensations, emotions, physicality and mental states. It is what makes me breathe and takes my breath away.
Jens-Antonio Schyth Brøndum (he/him) is a Guatemalan-born, American-Danish contemporary dance artist. He holds a BA from The Danish National School of Performing Arts. Directly after graduating he worked with the choreographer Sita Ostheimer, where his attention toward physical presence, embodiment, and performative responsibility was further refined. Jens-Antonio has over ten years of professional performance experience, having collaborated with, among other notable companies, Danish Dance Theater, The Royal Danish Ballet, and The Royal Danish Theatre. He has collaborated and performed pieces by choreographers such as Theo Clinkard, Fernando Melo, Esther Lee Wilkinson and Thomas Randi. Integrating organic physicality, sensory embodiment, and musicality, Jens-Antonio approaches dance as a space for trust, risk, and collective awareness.
