Cyril Baldy is a highly regarded dancer, choreographer, teacher and rehearsal director. He has worked with numerous renowned companies, including Ballet BC, the Nederlands Dans Theater and the Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon. As part of his new creation for the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, he is offering a masterclass for professional dancers and dance students, in which he shares his approach to dance. The work is based on a simple decision: the bodies of others are the starting point. Every movement the dancers make is not invented in isolation, but derived from someone else – observed, touched, interrupted, borrowed, translated.
