A Look Back at the F°LAB Festival
October 13, 2026
We had a fantastic start to October with the F°LAB Festival for Performing Arts and Music. From October 1–4, all the doors of the Frankfurt LAB were open to art, music, and dance. A special highlight was the FLOOR ON FIRE dance battle. There, dancers from the DFDC, the “urban dance” group The Saxonz, and independent dancers associated with ID_Tanzhaus Frankfurt Rhein-Main faced off in a dynamic battle against the relentless judgment of the audience and a jury. The dancing continued afterward at the after-show party.
On Saturday, the festival continued with an extensive program ranging from installations to a theater criticism format. In the evening, in “Precede with Intention: On the Assembling of Three,” Emanuele Co’, Yan Eliv Leiva, and Emanuele Piras invited the audience into a landscape of perception where gestures and sounds come together and dissolve again.
The festival finally came to a close on Sunday with an open house featuring a free program at the Kommunikationsfabrik. There was music, dance performances, escape room challenges, and much more. The DFDC offered a community dance workshop, and later, dancers Lander Casier, Yan Eliv Leiva, and Jens-Antonio Schyth Brøndum presented their own works as part of a dance showcase.
Many thanks to everyone who spent these eventful festival days with us—we look forward to the next one!
